Finally, my video rendered:
If you watch, please view it in full HD, (Blue box at top right corner).
I’m glad my test video finally managed to render on my ancient computer. I’m still disappointed by the terrible ghosting Vegas managed to add to my otherwise crisp and incredible footage.
Sample Photos and Story after the Jump:
Sadly, mine happened to come from England. While most things from England are pretty cool, Canon products are only cool if they were made in the US. Equally as depressing, the junk that came along with the camera was useless. Normally extra eBay junk at least serves a small purpose, but these things were completely worthless. The hard case was too short to fit the camera body, let alone a lens. The camera bag was a joke and was less padded than my pocket. The mini-tripod couldn’t even support the weight of the camera body. The “high speed” CF cards they gave me were slower than my flash drive from the late 90s. Though, the best was the CF reader: both computers I plugged it into immediately crashed. Somehow the plug-n-play chip on the device caused both hard drives to become corrupted. That’s lovely.
Luckily, the company I bought the camera from agreed to replace my grey-market-surprise with an official USA version, and told me they’d send me a nice backpack to make up for the cheap hard case/other junk they sent the first time. That means I’ll be camera-less again for a week or so. Depressing and inconvenient, and ridiculous, but at least I’ll finally have the legit gear I’ve always wanted.
Here are my test photos from the day I got my 5dMkII. I was playing with the settings and learning the camera, so they aren’t meant to be all that fantastic. Still perrrty.
I’ve optimized them for ze internets, so they’re MUCH smaller/less sharp than the originals. If you’d like to see any of them at full resolution, just leave a comment.
